Welcome to Lilies for Lillie - a fundraiser created in 2003 in memory of my mother, Lillie Delaney!

When Lilies for Lillie launched its inaugural campaign, I had no idea that it would continue into future years, let alone know it would accomplish what it has over the past six years. That first year my committee and I were so proud that we had reached out to so many people and as a result raised over $4,000 – a huge accomplishment for us! Through the years, our campaign grew every year and so did the momentum but nothing could prepare us for what happened during our 5th year anniversary (2008). Everything fell into place and all the hard work and relationships we had built over our first 4 years paid off and more importantly at no point throughout did we ever lose sight of our cause and the true meaning behind it – we never measured our success by the number of dollars we raised but more importantly by the number of people who supported us and believed in our cause! With support province-wide, the best volunteers a campaign could ask, sponsors that truly cared about our cause and the most amazing steering committee and friends that somebody could ask – we achieved something we had only dreamed of!

In 2008, Lilies for Lillie raised $100,000 for Daffodil Place and doubled its initial goal of $50,000 – the outcome was that a room in Daffodil Place will be named in Lillie’s honour!

This year, Lilies for Lillie is taking a “mini break” and our major fundraising efforts are on hold for 2009. This being said, due to popular demand we have continued with our annual lapel pin and we do hope you support our cause once again this year. We have produced a limited number of this year’s lapel pin so get your pin today! Wear it with pride and know the story behind it – every person you share Lilies for Lillie with is another measure of our success!

Sincerely,
Gord Delaney
